Compare the2025 Kia EV6VS 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S

Full-time four-wheel drive is available on the EV6. Full-time four-wheel drive gives added traction for safety in all conditions, not just off-road, like the only system available on the Wagoneer S.

Both the EV6 and Wagoneer S have rear cross-traffic warning, but the EV6 has Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Wagoneer S’ Rear Cross Path Detection doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the EV6 and the Wagoneer S have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The EV6 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Wagoneer S’ 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

Kia’s powertrain warranty covers the EV6 5 years and 40,000 miles longer than Jeep covers the Wagoneer S. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Wagoneer S ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Kia vehicles are better in initial quality than Jeep vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Kia fourth in initial quality, above the industry average. With 37 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jeep is ranked 19th, below the industry average.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Kia vehicles are more reliable than Jeep vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Kia above average in long-term dependability. With 3 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Jeep is rated lower.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Kia vehicles are more reliable than Jeep vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Kia 16 places higher in reliability than Jeep.

The EV6 GT’s standard electric motors produces 41 more horsepower (641 vs. 600) than the Wagoneer S’ electric motors.

The EV6 has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Wagoneer S doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

For better stopping power the EV6 GT’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Wagoneer S:

For better traction, the EV6 GT-Line e-AWD’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Wagoneer S (255/45R20 vs. 235/50R20).

The EV6 GT’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Wagoneer S’ 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the EV6 GT has standard 21-inch wheels. The Wagoneer S’ largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The EV6 offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Wagoneer S’ suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the EV6’s wheelbase is 1.2 inches longer than on the Wagoneer S (114.2 inches vs. 113 inches).

For better maneuverability, the EV6’s turning circle is 1.8 feet tighter than the Wagoneer S’ (38.2 feet vs. 40 feet). The EV6 GT’s turning circle is .8 feet tighter than the Wagoneer S’ (39.2 feet vs. 40 feet).

The Kia EV6 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 850 to 1600 pounds less than the Jeep Wagoneer S.

The EV6 is 7.6 inches shorter than the Wagoneer S, making the EV6 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The EV6 has 3.5 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Wagoneer S (103 vs. 99.5).

The EV6 has 1 inch more front headroom, 1.1 inches more front legroom, .4 inches more front shoulder room, .6 inches more rear headroom and 1 inch more rear legroom than the Wagoneer S.

The front step up height for the EV6 is 1.2 inches lower than the Wagoneer S 4dr Sport Utility (16.6” vs. 17.8”).

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the EV6 easier. The EV6’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 28.6 inches, while the Wagoneer S’ liftover is 30.2 inches.

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the EV6 to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Jeep doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Wagoneer S.

The EV6 GT-Line/GT’s Smart Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Smart Parking Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Wagoneer S’ automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.

The EV6 is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the EV6 first among compact suvs in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The Wagoneer S isn’t in the top three.

The EV6 was chosen as a Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2023. The Wagoneer S has never been chosen by Car and Driver in their “10Best” issue.
