Compare the2026 Kia EV6VS 2025 Lotus Eletre

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Kia EV6 achieved a “Acceptable” rating - the second highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Lotus Eletre has not been tested.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The EV6 offers optional Parking Collision-Avoidance Reverse that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Eletre doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Both the EV6 and the Eletre have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The EV6 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The Eletre’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

The EV6 comes with free roadside assistance for 5 years 60,000 miles. Kia will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Eletre.

Kia’s powertrain warranty covers the EV6 7 years and 64000 miles longer than Lotus covers the Eletre. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Eletre ends after only 3 years or 36,000 miles.

There are almost 19 times as many Kia dealers as there are Lotus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the EV6’s warranty.

The Kia EV6 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1200 to 1700 pounds less than the Lotus Eletre.

The EV6 is 1 foot, 4.1 inches shorter than the Eletre, making the EV6 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The EV6 is 5.3 inches narrower on average than the Eletre, making the EV6 easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The EV6 has a larger cargo volume than the Eletre with its rear seat up (24.4 vs. 24 cubic feet).

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the EV6 to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Lotus doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Eletre.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the EV6 has standard extendable sun visors. The Eletre doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The EV6 offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the rear seat, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Eletre doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The EV6 is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Eletre doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

The EV6 was chosen as a Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2023. The Eletre has never been chosen by Car and Driver in their “10Best” issue.
